THE NEXT BROOKLYN POTTERS MEETING

The next Brooklyn Potters meeting will be on Sunday, October 6 at a different venue.  In order for everyone to see the ceramics show, we arranged for the meeting to take place at BWAC.  I am attaching another copy of the invitation so everyone has access to the website for directions, etc.  I would encourage people to arrive by 5:00 in order to see the whole show before it closes at 6:00.  We will have our potluck as usual and have use of the BWAC cafe complete with microwave, sink and refrigerators. We will be able to view the Art in Clay show at our leisure after the galleries officially close, but will probably not have access to the other parts of the gallery after 6:00 pm.
We will meet as usual and discuss the show, etc. Susan Handwerker and Renee Murray both have work in the show, as do Tony Moore, Peter Barnett, and many other fine local ceramic artists.
Come one, come all!

Rene wants you to know:

The Hastings gallery is open to the public for three days BEFORE the opening reception--Oct. 3rd, 4th, and 5th.  I will be there all three of those days (from 12:00 to 5:00)--so all are welcome to come on up and I will give a personal tour of the show.

Rene Is in 2 shows

Dear fellow potters,

I just wanted to tell you about two shows that I am participating in at the present time:

— I am in a group show at BWAC--down in Red Hook--right near Fairways.   I have a larger space than usual and I have set up 5 figurative sculptures.  It looks like a mini solo show surrounded by a larger group show.  Come see.  It looks great!

— I am participating in a group show in HASTINGS, NEW YORK at a pop-up gallery.   The organizer and main exhibitor is Ruth Berelson.  She has just turned 90, and decided that a wonderful birthday present (to herself) would be a show of her latest (and possibly last) works.  She has chosen 10 of her students and 'mentorees' (that's me) to join her in this exhibit.  Ruth chose all of the work that she wanted each one of us to show in the gallery--so the pieces may not be the most recent ones, but rather--ones that Ruth loved and ones that she thought would all work well together.  Since most of these 10 exhibitors have shown in solo or group shows, the work is of very high caliber.  The show should be a delight! The OPENING is SUNDAY, OCT. 6th (1P.M.—5P.M.)  at the pop-up gallery--541  Warburton Ave.  Hastings, N.Y.  Hope to see you there!

best,
Rene
